Peepholes by David G. Kyle
This series of photographic prints by David G. Kyle was created using a combination of a parascopic lens mounted on top of a wide angle lens. Part dream, part voyeurism, this series takes the viewer through both familiar and exotic environments, juxtoposing everyday imagery with unexpected characters.
In the words of the artist, the images are an attempt to "fracture space and merge together images to create a surrealistic landscape. They are dreamlike, as if you were looking back in time, only having a distorted recollection of the memory".
All pieces are 16" x 20" silver gelatin prints.
The opening of this show coincided with Rererato's Anniversary Show on June 14th, 2008.
